Upcoming Workshops

Workshops are fun small group exercises, presented in two parts. The parts are designed to be taken together but can be taken independently. Sessions have a content theme but mostly emphasize troubleshooting, brainstorming, and interactivity, addressing the real problems attendees are facing.

Part 1: Narrative and Momentum

What have you done? Where are you trying to go? Why are you ready for this change? Your past made you who you are and set you up for your future. Understanding your journey thus far is key to making your next step. How are you going to convince someone else of your competence and experience if you don’t understand it yourself?

This session focuses on your professional journey, thinking about more holistically than titles and bullet points. Focusing on your strengths and likes, you'll leave this session with clarity and confidence in what you're looking to do next and what to emphasize to get there. If you’re a job seeker, this will help you with your applications and interviews. If you’re changing your career in some larger way, this will get you thinking about the bigger picture.

Part 2: Putting it all Together

How do you “sell” yourself and stand out in a crowded applicant field? How do you take your current experience into a new industry or professional domain? Now that you have a better sense of what you’re looking to do (from Part 1), how can you present that information in a way that is authentic, leans on your strengths, and gets the results you want? For job applicants that might mean getting a hiring manager to pay attention. For people making a different professional transition that might mean winning over your future clients.

This session helps you understand your audience, what they want, and how to design your approach accordingly. This is about authentically maximizing your story's impact, making you more than a blank collection of bullet points.

Is a workshop right for you?

  • Regardless of where you are in the process, these workshops are an opportunity to update your approach, learn new practices, ground yourself, network, and ask plenty of questions. Get both personalized and general advice on how to proceed.

  • One common challenges among all job seekers is translating the experience you have into the role you want. Crafting your narrative is key to conveying why you're the perfect candidate even with an atypical background, and at these workshops you can gain information & inspiration, brainstorm, and hear from others in the same position.

  • You may be looking for an internship or your first role, and in both cases these workshops will provide ideas for how to get started and present yourself with confidence even when you don’t have much experience (yet).

  • If you’re in need of a refresher or just looking to network with other job seekers, feel free to attend again. Every workshop is unique based on attendees so it’s never the same thing twice.
